TOKYO, May 26 (Reuters) - Japan's top government spokesman said on Monday it was difficult for the government to present candidates for a Bank of Japan deputy governor and another board member at the ongoing parliament session scheduled to end on June 15.

"I cannot say we definitely won't but it is difficult" to put forward candidates for the BOJ posts, Chief Cabinet Secretary Nobutaka Machimura told a news conference.

The nine-member policy board currently has two vacancies, including one for a deputy BOJ governor, but there has been almost no public talk among lawmakers about who should fill the positions. (Reporting by Tetsushi Kajimoto)
