TEPCO to restart quake-hit nuke plant Saturday-Jiji

TOKYO, May 8 (Reuters) - Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) (9501.T) will restart the 1,356-megawatt No.7 reactor at the quake-hit Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant on Saturday for a trial run, the Jiji news agency reported on Friday, citing TEPCO's president.

This marks the first restart of the world's biggest nuclear plant after a powerful quake hit the region on July 16, 2007, and comes after the company won final approval from the prefectural governor the previous day. [ID:nT268834] (Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori)
