TOKYO, Oct 8 (Reuters) - A senior Japanese Ministry of Finance official said said on Wednesday the recent market turmoil is affecting the real economy and overall tension is heightening.

"A number of things have been taking place in the United States and Europe recently and they are having an impact on the real economy," the official told reporters.
