JAL says applied for mediated debt restructuring

TOKYO, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Japan Airlines Corp (9205.T) said on Friday it has applied for mediated debt restructuring.

The scheme, called "Alternative Dispute Resolution", would trigger a suspension of loan payments. That would reduce the amount of funds the struggling carrier needs to secure in the near term.

JAL also said in its earnings report there were large uncertainties about its ability to continue as a going concern, including its ability to secure assistance from the Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corp of Japan.
