CANADA STOCKS-TSX sheds 300 points on weak earnings outlook

TORONTO, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index was sharply lower on Wednesday in a broad-based slide as lower oil prices and nagging concerns about upcoming corporate earnings hurt sentiment and convinced investors to pocket recent gains.

At 10:32 a.m. (1532 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 303.28 points, or 3.38 percent, at 8,658.27.

That marked the index's lowest level since since Dec. 30 and wiped out all of Tuesday's 168 point gain. (Reporting by Frank Pingue)
