The spokesman declined further comment beyond a confirmation of the stars' marriage.

Celebrity magazine US Weekly said the wedding took place on Saturday at a wilderness resort outside Vancouver, Canada, and guests included family members.

Reynolds, 31, was born in Vancouver, and he and New Yorker Johansson, 23, have been engaged since May this year.

She rose to fame as a child actress in movies such as "The Horse Whisperer" and increased her starpower in films like "Lost in Translation" and "Match Point."

Reynolds began acting as a teenager, gained notoriety through comic roles in films like "Van Wilder," and recently has starred in dramas such as sci-fi mystery "The Nines."
