Chrysler's steadier cash flow draws interest: Exec

DETROIT (Reuters) - Chrysler President Jim Press said a steadier company cash flow may be a reason there has been interest in its assets, but declined on Wednesday to directly address whether the automaker was in talks with General Motors Corp GM.N.

Chrysler has been facing the "reality" of lower sales and market share in its company restructuring and all automakers need to focus on the business at hand in the financial turmoil and downturn in auto sales in the United States, he said.

Speaking at an event at a hotel in Detroit's Renaissance Center, the home of GM's headquarters, Press said that the U.S. auto industry risks being distracted by speculation.

"The best thing we can do is focus on the business at hand," Press said. "The strategy we have put forward is working," he said of Chrysler.
