LeBron James becomes youngest player to score 11,000 points
EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Reuters) - Cleveland's LeBron James became the youngest player to score 11,000 career NBA points in Tuesday's game against the New Jersey Nets.
The Cavaliers forward needed 13 points to succeed Kobe Bryant as the youngest player to reach the milestone and he wasted no time by scoring 15 points in the first quarter.
James, a team mate of Bryant on the United States Olympic team which won gold at the Beijing Olympics in August, reached the 11,000-point mark at the age of 23 years, 323 days.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Bryant was 25 years, 99 days when he made it to 11,000 points.
