China hotel fire kills eight, injures 16

BEIJING (Reuters) - A fire at a hotel in northern China has killed eight people and injured 16 others, state media said on Saturday.

The hotel, in Luliang city in Shanxi province, caught fire early on Saturday morning, with flames eventually engulfing the whole seven-story building, the official Xinhua news agency said.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze, the report added.
