Swift will play Haley Jones, a teenaged girl whose family runs a seedy Vegas motel. Over the course of a year, Haley goes through a series of changes that have tragic consequences. The air date for the episode has not been announced.

Swift, who ended 2008 as the top selling all-genre artist with just over 4 million albums sold in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, kicked off 2009 last Saturday as the musical guest on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."
