U.S. oil falls $1 to $43.76 on economy worry

PERTH (Reuters) - U.S. oil fell $1 to below $44 a barrel on Monday, dragged down by mounting worries over energy consumption amid a recession in the United States and a global economic slowdown.

U.S. crude was down $1 at $43.76 by 0303 GMT, while London Brent crude fell 80 cents to $45.55 a barrel.
