    Cubs put injured Zambrano on disabled list

    CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Chicago Cubs have placed pitcher Carlos Zambrano on the 15-day disabled list due to a strained hamstring, the National League club said on Monday.

    Sports

    The Cubs called up infielder Bobby Scales to take his spot on the roster, with right-hander Randy Wells expected to be summoned from the minors to take Zambrano's turn in the rotation against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday.

    Zambrano, who injured his left leg trying to beat out a bunt against the Florida Marlins on Sunday, is 3-1 with a 4.50 earned run average this season.
