    Orioles place Luke Scott on disabled list

    BALTIMORE (Reuters) - The Baltimore Orioles have placed designated hitter Luke Scott on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left shoulder, the team said in a news release on Saturday.

    Scott, who is batting .303 with five home runs and 15 RBI, was injured against the New York Yankees on May 10 and has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 11.

    Baltimore has reinstated left-handed pitcher Rich Hill from the 15-day disabled list where he had been since March 29 with a strained left elbow. He was scheduled to make his first start for the Orioles on Saturday night at Kansas City.
