ABC News hires U.S. reporters for digital division
NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - ABC News is expanding its digital reporter corps by adding its first digital staffers in the U.S.
The arm of Walt Disney's ABC announced Wednesday the addition of new media staffers in Denver and Detroit, as well as the addition of two digital reporters to the network's coverage of the Obama Administration and the economy.
ABC News first deployed a team of seven digital reporters to foreign posts in 2007.
The new reporters will contribute on- and off-air reporting to the various ABC News television broadcasts and other platforms, including ABCNEWS.com, ABC News NOW, ABC News Webcasts, ABC News Radio and ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news service.
The new ABC News digital reporters:
Denver: Clayton Sandell is a former producer for "World News with Charles Gibson," where he covered politics, science, and climate change. He also reported on-air for NewsOne, "Focus Earth with Bob Woodruff," and the "World News" webcast.
He will cover breaking news across the region and focus on stories involving the environment, climate change and alternative energy.
Detroit: Tahman Bradley helped cover the 2008 presidential election for ABC News, taking lead reporting duties for the political unit's coverage of campaign fundraising and political ads. He also served as an embedded reporter covering Barack Obama and Rudy Giuliani and covered the vice presidential debate and the three presidential debates.
He created and anchored a weekly show for ABCNEWS.com called "Sunday Sound."
Bradley will cover Michigan and neighboring states, as well as the challenged auto industry.
White House: Karen Travers returns for a second stint on the presidential beat after covering George W. Bush's second term.
She is a regular on-air contributor to ABC News NOW and also files regularly for ABCNEWS.com. She rejoins the political team at ABC News after most recently serving as the deputy political director for its 2008 election coverage.
Economy: Matthew Jaffe reports on economic issues from Washington, particularly covering the Treasury Department, Federal Reserve and other government agencies overseeing the financial sector.
He is a regular on-air contributor to ABC News NOW, including morning program "Money Matters." He also files for ABC News Radio and ABCNEWS.com.
