Ibanez's 10th-inning blast lifts Phillies over Mets
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Raul Ibanez blasted a game-winning three-run home run in the 10th inning to lift the Philadelphia Phillies past the New York Mets 6-3 Thursday.
Ibanez launched a pitch from reliever Ken Takahashi to right-center field for his 21st homer of the season as the Phillies beat their NL East rivals in extra innings for the second day in a row.
Chase Utley delivered an 11th inning home run Wednesday to earn the Phillies a 5-4 victory.
The NL East-leading Phillies got a quality performance from 46-year-old pitcher Jamie Moyer, who lasted six innings and gave up three runs.
Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran finished with all three of his team's RBIs and gave them a 3-1 lead with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.
Utley, in the sixth, and Matt Stairs (seventh) had RBIs to tie the game at 3-3.
