Canada court rejects bid for generic Viagra
OTTAWA (Reuters) - The Federal Court of Canada rejected on Thursday a bid by generic drugmaker Novapharm Ltd to be allowed to market a generic version of Pfizer Inc's erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.
The court said Novapharm should not be allowed to introduce a generic version until Pfizer's Canadian patent expires in 2014. The court rejected Novapharm's allegation that the patent is invalid.
Novapharm is part of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd
