It centers on Will Travers (James Badge Dale), a brilliant analyst at a national think tank who discovers that his employers are not who they seem to be. It comes from writer Jason Horwitch.

"Rubicon" is the third drama pilot for AMC and the third to go to series, following the Emmy-winning pair "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad."

The pilot for "Rubicon" was greenlighted almost a year ago, but the network's development team took its time to figure out where the mystery would go after the pilot.

No production start date has been set yet for "Rubicon," which co-stars Miranda Richardson, Jessica Collins Christopher Evan Welch and Lauren Hodges.
