U.S. Iraq troops charged in filming women in shower
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Two U.S. soldiers in Iraq have been charged for allegedly filming and photographing their female comrades while they were taking showers and then distributing the images, the U.S. military said on Monday.
A U.S. military statement said the charges against Sergeant Gilbert Parker and Specialist Matthew Delia, serving with a military police brigade in the southern city of Basra, date back to their pre-deployment training last fall at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
"Parker is charged with conspiracy, violating a lawful general order, obstructing justice and distributing pornography," the statement said.
Parker could face up to 18 years jail if found guilty. Delia, charged with conspiring with him, could face 12 years.
The U.S. military has some 130,000 troops in Iraq.
