French PM, Geithner discuss French public finances
PARIS (Reuters) - French Prime Minister Francois Fillon told U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner that France aimed to bring its public finances back to balance in the long run during a meeting in Paris on Thursday.
The prime minister's office also said in a statement released after the meeting that the two had discussed the issue of sanctions against Iran.
"The prime minister underlined France's core objective of bringing public finances back to balance in the long run," the statement said.
They also discussed competition in the banking sector and remuneration of financial market players.
