The Screen Actors Guild will honor White, 87, for her career and humanitarian achievements, with a presentation on January 23, 2010, at the televised SAG Awards.

White is best known for playing naive senior citizen Rose on the 1980s television series "Golden Girls". In recent years she had a recurring role on comedy "Boston Legal" and played herself in two episodes of "Ugly Betty."

The actress also has a passion for animal welfare, and is a board member of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association.
