Austin has 250 yards receiving as Cowboys win in overtime
KANSAS CITY (Reuters) - Miles Austin scored on a 60-yard pass play in overtime for a team-record 250 yards receiving to lift the Dallas Cowboys to a 26-20 victory over the winless Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The catch-and-run play from quarterback Tony Romo gave backup receiver Austin 10 catches for the day, enabling him to break Hall of Famer Bob Hayes's 1966 team record of 246 yards.
"I never saw a day like today coming," Austin told reporters. "I was ready to play, but you can never expect to have a day like this."
He earlier scored on a 59 yard pass, also from Romo who passed for 351 yards for the Cowboys (3-2).
Kansas City (0-5), who led 10-0 at one point, forced overtime when Matt Cassel connected with Dwayne Bowe on a 16-yard scoring play with 24 seconds remaining in regulation.
