U.S., EU repeat commitment to coordinate policy exit
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States and European Union on Tuesday confirmed their commitment to ensure a robust economic recovery and cooperate on retreating from such policies once growth is established.
"We commit to remain vigilant to take actions to assure a strong recovery and to plan for cooperative and coordinated exit strategies to be implemented once recovery is ensured," according to a declaration issued following a White House summit between U.S. President Barack Obama and EU leaders.
The remarks echo the pledge of leaders at the Group of 20 meeting in Pittsburgh in September.
