FACTBOX: Security developments in Afghanistan
(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1530 GMT on Sunday:
HELMAND - A British soldier was killed by small arms fire while on foot patrol near Sangin in southern Helmand province, the British Defense Ministry said.
KUNAR - Three Afghan soldiers were killed and two wounded during fighting over the past 24 hours against militants who attacked an army base in the Ghazi Abad district of eastern Kunar province, the Afghan Defense Ministry said.
PAKTIKA - Afghan and foreign forces killed six Taliban fighters, including one of their commanders, in the Sarobi district of southeastern Paktika province on Saturday, the provincial governor said in a statement.
NURISTAN - Six Taliban insurgents were killed and four wounded during an attack on a police post in the remote district of Noorgram in eastern Nuristan province, governor Jamaluddin Badr said.
