GAZA (Reuters) - An explosion in the house of a Hamas commander in the Gaza Strip has wounded 24 people, a Hamas official and medical workers in the Palestinian territory said on Monday.

Hamas blamed Israel for the explosion, which it said targeted field commander Alaa al-Danaf. The Israeli military, through an army spokeswoman, denied any involvement.

Medical workers said the blast had wounded 24 people inside and outside al-Danaf's house. It was unclear if he was killed in the blast, which occurred at a time of renewed cross-border violence between militants and the Israeli army.

A Hamas commander and rocket-maker was killed in an Israeli air strike at the weekend after a rocket fired from the enclave exploded in the Israeli city of Ashkelon.

Issa Batran, whose caravan was hit by a missile, was the first Hamas commander killed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza since Israel wound up a three-week military offensive against the territory's Hamas Islamist rulers in January 2009.

Reuters- pls tell the complete story.

By omitting publishing the background the innocent rider get the wrong impression that the defending Israel is looking for fights.

1: Reality- The Palestine’s fired over 6000 rockets on Israeli civil targets ahead of Jan 2009.

The Palestinians fired the rockets hiding in civilian areas dressed as civilian/

Every Government worldwide major duty is to protect its civilians against indiscriminate killing efforts and undertake more decisive measures to end this type of aggressors compared to Israel

2: Hamas was freely elected by Gaza People.

Hamas charter stands for: Worldwide domination by Islam – Fight all the infidels- Kill the Jews

***If willing!! Gaza people can choose a peace loving agenda and not the Islamist charter of Hamas

Instead of blaming Israel for the failed peace process the world needs to focus on Hamas and the PA. Palestinans can’t make peace amongst themselves so why is Israel expected to?

“Jihadist Salafi groups have repeatedly accused Hamas of preventing them from launching rockets at Israel and say it sometimes arrests those trying to do so.” —

What is that about Salafis? A group created by Israel; so they can strike Gaza anytime they want?

Israel will be having its darkest decade unless they change the current government. I cant follow their dirty games anymore.

So far, Israel has only ever RESPONDED to rocket attacks FROM Gaza. Never started anything. If the Palestinians don’t want to get bombed, stop attacking Israel.

That seems kinda simple.

First of all, no one even knows what caused this particular blast. It sounds like a “work related incident” to me. If Hamas and all their cohorts stopped attacking Israel they would lose their funding from Iran, Saudi, etc., and if the “Pals” agreed to a state they would also lose their funding…from the U.N., U.S., Europe and various NGO’s. Why bother with finding people jobs and building a true working Govt. Too Hard!!

Israel deserves every rocket that hits them. They are terrorists who have murdered American citizens in cold blood. They are no different than AlQaida.

Though the PLO did, Hamas has never committed an attack outside of the battle field. They have never deliberately attacked American targets. Israel has, more than just once.

Get out of Palestine, no more war. The oppressed have a God given right to resist.

That seems kinda simple.

Hold ur horses thar cowboy. Israel has done no such thing to American citizens in cold blood.
But your right about one thing, the oppressed do have a right to defend themselves.
Amazing how it is that when Israel fights back so many overlook that this is what they are doing. Fighting BACK . . .
No one has the right to throw the first stone in the first place.
I agree with the earlier post. Stop sending rockets at them, stop fighting over their piddly piece of land, smaller than any American State and leave those poor friggin people alone. There’s clear cut archeological evidence the Hebrews have been in the area for centuries, and even records of having bought land, just to be booted out. They’re surrounded by by other peoples of plenty, with 10 times as much land and land to spare. Its got nothing to do with land as much as it is to do with a whole lot of bullying on a national scale of a teensy little country. If anyone has a history of oppression it is the Jews, and it continues, and it is totally disgraceful that people behave like common animals won’t leave them alone.
