McCain wins Texas Republican primary

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Arizona Sen. John McCain won the Texas Republican primary on Tuesday, and clinched his party's presidential nomination with a string of victories, CNN projected.

McCain became the party's presumptive candidate for the November general election after his leading rivals dropped out of the race, but he continues to be opposed by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who trails badly but has refused to end his candidacy.
