Housing secretary to resign Monday: source
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. housing secretary will resign Monday morning under pressure after accusations of improper allocation of federal contracts, a government source familiar with the situation said.
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson will announce that he is stepping down April 18th in a press conference to start at 10 a.m., the source said.
Jackson has faced calls for his resignation after lawmakers have said he behaved improperly in awarding federal contracts.
