Rep. Frank sees Congress acting fast on bailout plan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The head of the Financial Services committee in the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday said he expected Congress to act swiftly on a Wall Street bailout proposal requested by the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve.

"I am reasonably certain that the House will have passed this by the end of the week," Rep. Barney Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat, said in an interview with C-SPAN.

He said he expected the Senate to act quickly as well.

"I have no doubt that this will get done within two weeks or less," Frank said.
