JOHANNESBURG, July 8 (Reuters) - A strike by about 70,000 construction workers -- which may delay construction of stadiums for the 2010 FIFA World Cup -- will be indefinite, National Union of Mineworkers spokesman Lesiba Seshoka said on Wednesday.

"Our intention is to take it (strike) forever, so as long as the employers are not bringing what we want to the table...," Seshoka told Reuters.

The union is demanding a 13 percent wage increase while employers have refused to go beyond 10 percent. The strike action will halt work on World Cup stadiums from Wednesday and could delay completion of the venues for the event due to start in South Africa next June.
