BERLIN, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Deutsche Telekom's (DTEGn.DE) Chief Financial Officer Karl-Gerhard Eick is due to succeed Thomas Middelhoff as head of German retail company Arcandor (AROG.DE), industry sources said on Tuesday.

Three people told Reuters that Eick, whose resignation was announced earlier on Tuesday by Deutsche Telekom, had quit his post to replace Arcandor's outgoing CEO Middelhoff.

Arcandor declined to comment. Deutsche Telekom only said Eick would resign by the end of February 2009 to join another company.
