FRANKFURT, June 13 (Reuters) - BASF (BASF.DE), the world's biggest chemicals group, will revise its assumptions on oil and gas prices and currency exchange rates by the end of the quarter, a spokesman said on Friday.

He was clarifying remarks made by Chief Executive Juergen Hambrecht, who said in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper he currently saw no reason to back down from BASF's full-year growth targets.

"There is currently no reason to deviate from our forecast. It is however a little different when we talk about the dollar and oil prices. We will reexamine our forecasts by the end of the quarter in light of the actual oil price development and then comment," the paper quoted him as saying. (Reporting by Patricia Gugau)
