Infineon shares rise on talk of STM bid -traders

FRANKFURT, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Shares of Infineon (IFXGn.DE) rose on Monday as traders cited talk that STMicroelectronics (STM.PA) planned to bid 12.50 euros per share for the German chipmaker.

"There's talk that STM may bid 12.50 euros per share for Infineon, but I'm not so sure there's anything in it," said one trader.

Infineon declined to comment.

Shares of Infineon were up 3.8 percent at 11.17 euros by 1526 GMT, outperforming a 1.8 percent gain in the German DAX index of leading shares .GDAXI. STM shares were 0.4 percent higher, paring earlier gains.
