Ecolab says will buy Microtek in $274 mln deal

LOS ANGELES, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Ecolab Inc. (ECL.N), a provider of cleaning products and services, said on Tuesday it agreed to buy Microtek Medical Holdings in a $274 million deal aimed at expanding its reach in the health care sector.

Ecolab said it offered $6.30 per share in cash for Microtek's 43.5 million outstanding shares.

Microtek's products include infection barrier equipment drapes and operating room cleanup systems. In 2006, Microtek's sales were $142 million.
