Vonage says sued by AT&T for patent infringement
NEW YORK (Reuters) - AT&T Inc (T.N) has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Vonage Holdings Corp (VG.N), according to a Vonage regulatory filing on Friday, the latest legal trouble for the Internet phone service provider.
It said in a filing to the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission that AT&T is seeking injunctive relief, compensatory and treble damages and attorneys' fees in unspecified amounts.
Vonage said the lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Wisconsin on October 17.
Vonage has been hit by a string of lawsuits since going public in May 2006. It settled a patent suit filed by Sprint Nextel Corp (S.N) earlier this month, and is seeking a review of a U.S. court verdict in a case against Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ.N)
