Associated Banc-Corp buys back 2 mln shares

NEW YORK, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Associated Banc-Corp. (ASBC.O), a Midwest U.S. banking company, said on Tuesday it paid about $68.2 million to buy back 2 million shares through an accelerated repurchase program.

IPOs

The Green Bay, Wisconsin-based company said it repurchased the shares from Citibank NA, and that the buyback covers about 1.5 percent of its outstanding common stock.

Associated said it has about 5.8 million shares remaining under prior buyback authorizations. The company has about $21 billion of assets and operates more than 315 banking offices in Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.
