MGIC Investment 1st-qtr net profit falls

NEW YORK, April 11 (Reuters) - MGIC Investment Corp. (MTG.N) said on Wednesday its first quarter profit fell 43.4 percent, as refinancing of mortgages cut into its insurance premiums.

Net income fell to $92.4 million, or $1.12 per share, from $163.5 million, or $1.87 per share, in the year-ago period.
