Wyeth says FDA approves oral contraceptive Lybrel

NEW YORK, May 22 (Reuters) - Drug maker Wyeth WYE.N said on Tuesday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved its low-dose oral contraceptive Lybrel, designed to eliminate a woman's monthly period.

In a statement, Wyeth said Lybrel, which will be available by prescription, is expected in U.S. pharmacies in July 2007.
