DuPont invests $58 mln in biofuel facilities

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. chemicals company DuPont Co. said on Tuesday it will invest $58 million in biofuel production at two facilities, as part of a partnership with BP Plc. and British Sugar.

DuPont plans to build the world's first biobutanol demonstration facility with BP to develop fuels from wheat, corn and other feedstocks.

DuPont will also have a 10 percent stake in an ethanol plant at the same location announced earlier on Tuesday, in which BP and British Sugar owner, Associated British Foods Plc, will each hold 45 percent.
