Leap Wireless says unit to bid in FCC auction

Dec 4 (Reuters) - Mobile phone service provider Leap Wireless International Inc (LEAP.O) said its unit filed applications to bid in the Federal Communications Commission's auctions of 700 MHz band licenses.

In a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, the company said Denali Spectrum License LLC, an entity in which Leap has a non-controlling indirect interest, also filed applications to participate in the auctions.
