Gildan profit rises, product mix offset charge

TORONTO, Aug 13 (Reuters) - T-shirt maker Gildan Activewear Inc (GIL.TO) (GIL.N) said on Wednesday third-quarter profit rose slightly, as a more favorable product mix and selling prices offset restructuring charges.

The clothing maker earned $54.0 million, or 44 cents a share, in the quarter ended July 6, compared with a profit of $52.4 million, or 43 cents a share, in the comparable period last year. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; Editing by Derek Caney)
