Nov 2 (Reuters) - Roche (ROG.VX) said its experimental drug to treat chronic hepatitis C virus infection showed promising antiviral activity in a mid-stage trial when given in combination with two other drugs.

In the study, the experimental drug R1626 was administered to patients in combination with drugs Pegasys and Copegus. The virus could no longer be detected in up to 81 percent of patients after four weeks of treatment. (Reporting by Jennifer Robin Raj in Bangalore)
