Regal Beloit buys Alstom's motors and fans business in India

Nov 2 (Reuters) - Regal-Beloit Corp (RBC.N), a maker of motion control and power generation products, said it acquired Alstom's motors and fans business in India. The acquired business is expected to be effectively neutral to earnings per share in 2007 and add between 6 cents and 8 cents a share to earnings in 2008, including planned synergies, Regal-Beloit said in a statement.

The company expects the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, to add about $10 million and $80 million to sales in the fourth quarter of 2007 and full year 2008, respectively. (Reporting by Bhaswati Mukhopadhyay in Bangalore)
