Barr Pharmaceuticals gets tentative OK for generic dementia drug

May 11 (Reuters) - Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. BRL.N said it received tentative approval from U.S. health regulators for various doses of its generic version of Janssen Pharmaceutica Products L.P.'s dementia drug Razadyne.

Regulatory News

The approval is for the 4 mg, 8mg and 12mg tablets for the treatment of mild to moderate dementia of the Alzheimer's type, the pharmaceutical company said in a statement.

The product had annual sales of about $140 million for the 12 months ended March 2007, according to IMS sales data. Janssen Pharmaceutica is a unit of Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N). (Reporting by Amitha Rajan in Bangalore)
