King launches Altace in tablet form

NEW YORK, Feb 15 (Reuters) - King Pharmaceuticals Inc (KG.N) said on Friday that it has begun selling its Altace blood pressure medicine in a new tablet form.

The drugmaker said it will continue to make available Altace capsules.

But its biggest product is expected to face plunging sales due to competition from cheaper generic versions of the medicine after a court found King's patent to be invalid. (Reporting by Bill Berkrot; Editing by Gary Hill)
