Warner Chilcott gets notice from Barr related to generic Femcon

Aug 15 (Reuters) - Warner Chilcott Ltd. (WCRX.O) said it received a notice from Barr Laboratories Inc. indicating that the latter filed an application with U.S. regulators for a generic version of Warner's oral contraceptive drug.

Warner said the drug, Femcon FE, is protected by a U.S. patent that expires in 2019, and that it "continues to have full confidence in its intellectual property protecting Femcon FE." (Reporting by Varsha Tickoo in Bangalore)
