Feb 27 (Reuters) - Human Genome Sciences Inc. (HGSI.O) said a mid-stage trial of its antiviral drug Albuferon with ribavirin showed positive results in patients with chronic liver wasting disease, hepatitis C.

Regulatory News

The biotechnology company said the mid-stage results show that Albuferon may offer comparable or improved efficacy versus Roche Holding AG's (ROG.VX) Pegasys.

The company said it started late-stage trials of Albuferon, being developed with Novartis AG (NOVN.VX), in combination with ribavirin. (Reporting by Shivani Singh in Bangalore)
