DivX buys video technologies provider MainConcept for $22 mln

Nov 14 (Reuters) - DivX Inc (DIVX.O) said it acquired MainConcept AG, a Germany-based provider of video technologies, in a cash and stock deal valued at about $22 million, with additional milestone payments of up to about $6 million.

DivX, a maker of video compression software, said increased costs related to operations and the integration of MainConcept could impact its fourth quarter by about 2 cents to 3 cents a share.

The company said it expects the deal to add to quarterly earnings in the second half of 2008. (Reporting by Shikhar Balwani in Bangalore)
