NEW YORK, Aug 27 (Reuters) - AmerisourceBergen Corp(ABC.N) on Monday said the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has reinstated the drug distributor's license to distribute controlled substances from its Orlando, Florida, distribution center.

The company said the DEA disclosed on Saturday that the distribution of controlled drugs could resume at the facility. The company's license to ship them had been suspended in April, when DEA officials alleged the center had inadequate controls against diversion of controlled substances by retail Internet pharmacies.

AmerisourceBergen said its license was restored after it implemented "an enhanced and more sophisticated order monitoring program" in all of its drug distribution centers, beginning July 1.

The company said it expects its new order monitoring program to quickly become the new industry standard. It said the system requires more rapid identification and daily reporting of orders that may indicate diversion of controlled substances.
