FDA approves J&J's Levaquin for urinary infection
CHICAGO, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N) on Monday said U.S. regulators approved the use of a high-dose regimen of its antibiotic Levaquin to treat complicated urinary tract and kidney infections.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the five-day, once-daily treatment based on the results of a 1,109-patient study that assessed the safety and effectiveness of Levaquin compared with ciprofloxacin. (Reporting by Susan Kelly)
