Alaska Airlines unit revs fall in May
NEW YORK, June 22 (Reuters) - Alaska Air Group Inc. (ALK.N) said on Friday that Alaska Airlines' passenger revenues per available seat mile, or unit revenues, fell 2.3 percent in May on lower ticket prices and fewer passengers.
Unit revenues at Alaska Air's regional unit Horizon Air rose 5.6 percent in May, the company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The carrier also forecast a decline in Alaska Airlines' second-quarter cost per available seat mile, or unit costs, by 1 percent to 2 percent. It expects second-quarter capacity at Alaska Airlines to rise by 5 percent.
