Watson said Wyeth filed suit on Wednesday in Delaware federal court to block Watson from introducing its copycat form of the low-dose oral contraceptive. Watson said the suit, under federal law, automatically will block its generic for up to 30 months.

Cowen and Co has predicted that Lybrel will garner annual sales of $500 million in 2012.
